Support .deb install for Debian, Ubuntu, etc

Please support this method of installation.

I use Ubuntu 8.04 and repos not are updated (they contain 1.06 version).

Some person as my brother doesn't have enough knowlegde for compile sources (as I), by this and other people need a .deb archive for download almost in official site of Transmissión (althougth also in the ubuntu repos).

I need your help.

It's not Transmission developers' job to update Linux distros and other OS packages. You should talk with Ubuntu/Debian folks. While you are here, you can take a look at this: viewtopic.php?p=26902#p26902

I have written an article on my blog (in Spanish) explaining how to install the latest version to 1.31. Deb since repositories (thanks to the repositories Bortis).

I think it would be much easier (and faster), whether here in Transmission is offering a version for Ubuntu/Debian. I do not think that this would greatly complicate the developers and effort would be very useful.

PD: @war59312 getdeb not was useful, the latest version available there is 1.22

Wast just updated to 1.32, the latest build. Right, they dont update every day...

The Ubuntu team has included the new version 1.32 in the repository for Intrepid and hardy-backports
