Re: Path Substituiton
Hi there power users! AFAIK there is no way to do this with any stock UI. I have written a web UI, Shift , that allows you to select torrents on a certain path and batch move them to another path. Be aware that doing large move actions across filesystems with Transmission may cause servercide. Try ...

wow, killemov, that's tremendous!! Thank you so much!
I don't have the time right now to study this fully, but will before I attempt to do this, of course. Will post back ASAP.

Re: Path Substituiton
thanks wooshyx for explaining that. was hoping there was a better solution here. I move torrents as they come in to folders based on their content type, and those folders exist on multiple volumes such as: Vol1/Books/Science Fiction/ Vol1/Books/Crime/ Vol2/Movies/Features/ Vol3/Movies/Documentaries/...

Path Substituiton
I plan to rearrange the file structure of thousands of torrent files, which are spread across several volumes.
I want to go from some like:
/Volumes/Volume x/path
to
/Volumes/Big Volume/Folder x/path
is this possible and if so, how?

Re: Seeding question
What exactly is "waiting to seed" status vs "seeding". Such a basic question but I never understood. If someone snatches a torrent that is "waiting to seed" will Transmission move to "seeding" it?

Re: Transmission 2.93 (3c5870d4f5) freezing High Sierra 10.13.4
I'm now having this problem with 2.94 and HS 10.13.5. 3880 torrents. actually it seems it started when i paused them all and tried to get them to restart. they're all started now but it freezes up Transmission, have to force quit. really like to solve this. if i can manage to quit it, it behaves nor...

Re: "waiting to seed"
What does this even mean? I accidently hit the "pause" button on the toolbar, so all torrents obviously paused. when i resumed, they all say "waiting to seed…" until I select "…right away". I agree limited by the queue settings, but what is actually happening when it's ...

Re: Batch change tracker information
It sounds like this functionality is not available in Transmission Mac (I have 2.9.2), which is very unfortunate considering many regular (non-programmer) users of this fine product want this functionality. So, I'm supposed to go outside Transmission to change tracker URLS? Maybe use a different cl...

Re: TLS SNI problem on OS X
This was an issue on a tracker I use. I don't really understand what all this is about, but for the convenience of end users who need a way to launch Transmission in this mode, here's a simple AppleScript to launch transmission: property transmission_path : "/Applications/Transmission.app/Conte...

Re: Referencing the same files in 2 different torrents
Any other thoughts on this? I also want to do what OP proposed. We're talking about creating separate torrent files for the same data, each with a different and unique tracker URl. That doesn't violate any bittorrent spec, but transmission apparently cannot handle this? it would seem it should be re...

Re: Batch change tracker information
hmm… ok, thanks. but why is it not included in the official builds then?x190 wrote:yup --- it's all included - daemon, client, cli, remote. That is not very helpful. We're talking about building this transmission-remote binary, not the Transmission application.

Re: Batch change tracker information
"transmission-remote" command line function is not available on the Mac? You can build it yourself with Xcode. OK, thanks where is the source? And why not provide a built version? Even tucked into the package of the app? In the meantime, I found a great python script a user named alimony ...

Re: Batch change tracker information
Is it still not possible to do this on a Mac, even with a script? From what I understand from the trac, the "transmission-remote" command line function is not available on the Mac?
