Peer Port won't stick
I keep setting the listening port, incoming port, or the peer-port (and I assume these are all the same thing), to a value and the WebUI's keep resetting it to 0 or 1. This is happening in Shift (1.1, built-in to docker container) and Transmission Web Gui (fork) The settings.json file has the right ...

Re: Help migrating when files are located on a network drive
I can vouch for this! Happy to help with the specifics, oniangel. (the biggest obstacle may be switching the WebUI to shift tho)

Re: Path Substituiton
Ah, I would not have thought to use Transmission as a tool to manage my content library. I would not have thought not to. So do most people just double up? Keep one copy of a file to seed, in a single folder, and another organized? I've got storage challenges as it is. Mac transmission made it easy...

https://superuser.com/questions/476752/setting-environment-variables-in-os-x-for-gui-applications Oh, and maybe post how/what/where you changed here and I will update the instructions. FYI – I attempted to replicate setting the environment variable on the Mac but have failed to do so. But for anyon...

Re: Path Substituiton
That was quick and most excellent work, a million thanks!!! Saved me hours and hours for sure. Hopefully will be useful to others. I think I managed to relocate everything, maybe needing to make 15 or so top-level substitutions. For the benefit of others and for development feedback, some random obs...

Re: Path Substituiton
Ah, I would not have thought to use Transmission as a tool to manage my content library. ... Changing this many paths manually or even by this many groups is a pain. AFAIK, there is nothing that can do this ... yet. Please open an issue for Shift and then give me a week or so to implement this. It ...

Re: Path Substituiton
Hi again Killemov. I managed to get Shift running on MacOS but afraid to say not exactly sure how. I edited the info.plist as described in the last link you provided; after that Transmission wouldn't launch. And when I bypassed gatekeeper (Mac security feature which blocks modified apps from launchi...

Re: Path Substituiton
HI again. Thanks for the last reply. Still getting to tackle this in the big migration. That link is super helpful, thanks. Yes, on my previous system I was able to see the web-UI. I think I get the idea now, this would replace the built-in web UI, correct? Before I go down this road, I just learned...

Re: Path Substituiton
The web-UI is available for most (/all?) desktop clients. So it's built in, but you may need to activate it in the settings. And then simply point your browser to the configured address. You could try the usual http://localhost:9091/transmission/web/ . If that works you need to find out how to set ...

Re: Path Substituiton
Hi there power users! AFAIK there is no way to do this with any stock UI. I have written a web UI, Shift , that allows you to select torrents on a certain path and batch move them to another path. Be aware that doing large move actions across filesystems with Transmission may cause servercide. Try ...

wow, killemov, that's tremendous!! Thank you so much!
I don't have the time right now to study this fully, but will before I attempt to do this, of course. Will post back ASAP.

Re: Path Substituiton
thanks wooshyx for explaining that. was hoping there was a better solution here. I move torrents as they come in to folders based on their content type, and those folders exist on multiple volumes such as: Vol1/Books/Science Fiction/ Vol1/Books/Crime/ Vol2/Movies/Features/ Vol3/Movies/Documentaries/...

Path Substituiton
I plan to rearrange the file structure of thousands of torrent files, which are spread across several volumes.
I want to go from some like:
/Volumes/Volume x/path
to
/Volumes/Big Volume/Folder x/path
is this possible and if so, how?

Re: Seeding question
What exactly is "waiting to seed" status vs "seeding". Such a basic question but I never understood. If someone snatches a torrent that is "waiting to seed" will Transmission move to "seeding" it?
