Seeding history

I belong to a site that limits the number of upload slots we're allowed and enforces ratio minima. Consequently, I must prune the files I'm seeding sometimes to make room for new ones.

It would be helpful if there was a seeding history I could consult, so I can delete those files that have been ...

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

When selecting a data location, you always need to select the folder one level above whatever file or top level folder that was created by Transmission for the torrent.
Understood.

If your data will not verify after you have done that correctly, then it must have been altered or corrupted since ...

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

I still think you are doing it wrong (because you have the .torrent inside "Data folder")
Please look at the image again. Notice that the Data folder's arrowhead is in the closed position, its size is zero, and the .torrent is not indented. The .torrent is not inside the Data folder (which would ...

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

Example folder structure:

Desktop-> "untitled" ->"Torrent X (folder)->Files(avis, mp3s, jpgs, etc.)
Yes, I believe your instructions were clear. Here's a prototype I created to illustrate what I did:

The real data folder is not empty, of course -- it contains the full download ...

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

Did you select the torrent in Transmission's Main Window first?
Oops! No. I was so intent on following your directions, I wasn't thinking.

Before seeing your update, I did a clean install per your instructions and rebooted for good measure.

Once I Add the .torrent, the window you show vanishes ...

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

I tried 2 things:

1. Double-clicked the .torrent (which leaves T's transfer window blank) and tried "File->Move Data File To..."
2. Clicked "Add," paused T, and tried "File" etc.

In both cases, that option was grayed out. Perhaps this is diagnostic?

I also downloaded the .torrent again to be ...

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

Perhaps the data has been changed in some way since it was d/led or you may be trying to use a different .torrent than the original. In that case, you would need to re-download the torrent data.
It's definitely the same .torrent, and I'm at a loss to think of what change I might have made to the ...

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

Sorry -- I missed your instruction to select Debug. I cleared T's Resume and Torrents folders, cleared the Log window, and made a fresh attempt:

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

I deleted the torrent file and (empty) folder from the locations you specified -- even relaunched T -- but get the same behavior.

As soon as I double-click the torrent file (which is on my Desktop, along with the intact folder) T puts a fresh copy in ~/Library/Application Support/Transmission ...

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

I have the "Default location" set to "Same as torrent file," and "Keep incomplete files in" set to "Desktop." The torrent file and folder are on the Desktop and the folder is intact with its original name, etc.

When I double-click the torrent file, it shows an empty folder and therefore can't ...

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?

I'd like to restart seeding too but can't using these instructions.

I moved the torrent and the download back to the default download location, but when I try to verify, T 2.4.2 refuses -- it shows the download (which is a folder) as being empty. It isn't -- I checked and everything's there.

Re: [1.5] Speed Limit and other bugs

I'm using 1.5 also, on OSX 10.5.6, and have seen none of these problems.

Have you tried the usual voodoo? That is, trash T's preferences (org.m0k.transmission.plist), repair permissions, reinstall T, and zap the PRAM?

You might check the Console to see whether T's producing any error messages that ...

Re: 1.50 is seeding, but has only 98% and isn't downloading

After watching the Peers tab in Inspector for awhile, I've noticed that people with all-green progress bars bearing a checkmark appear from time to time in my list, but they disappear rapidly without apparently sending me any data. Stats at the bottom are: 48 connected, 3 tracker, 18 incoming, 23 ...

Re: Download maxes out around 230 kb/s

Note to others: Clicking the link Jordan gave will yield "Not found" because it picks up the semicolon at the end -- trim that off.

I don't think I have any of the problems described there, but I'm going from memory now and still have some things to learn about T and torrents in general. So I'll ...
