Re: Individually (un)selecting files makes no difference?
Bittorent uses chunks, pieces, or blocks, not files. Sometimes multiple files are included in one chunk (piece/block) and you can't deselect one without deselecting the other, and vice-versa. Other clients can handle this differently and hide the files you deselected from you. So it's working the wa...

Re: "result too large" repeating errors --
This is still an issue (w/10.7 Lion and Transmission 2.33) so I'm giving it a bump. Jordan wanted to know if there were any messages in "the log" about "write failed". Is that the Transmssion log or Mac OS X's Console Log? I just had this happen 3 times on a 14GB torrent containi...

Re: Question about blocklist
"http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/nipfilter.dat.gz" works well and is the one I prefer. You can check out their website for other blacklists.

Re: "result too large" repeating errors --
That was kinda what I was getting at. There have been, and still are a crap load of random issues affecting Snow Leopard. That's silly. I don't have any of those problems and haven't heard of others having those problems and I personally know quite a few Mac owners. That's like attributing Bob's al...

Re: "result too large" repeating errors --
Um, isnt't "mdworker" related to Spotlight? And isn't "mDNSResponder" related to Bonjour? I don't see how those errors are related to Apple Mail anyway.

Re: "result too large" repeating errors --
I too have been having this problem for a while. My disks are fine (according to Disk Utility, Disk Warrior, etc). It seems to only happen to me with torrents from PureTnA. Usually torrents with a high number of small files. It's probably just coincidence that they are all from that site though sinc...

Does this have something to do with US Court order to stop "LimeWire" to continue? Limewire has absolutely nothing to do with Transmission or BitTorrent. It's possible that LimeWire at some point added a BitTorrent client to their program, but I wouldn't know since I have used that garbag...

Re: Sleeping Display Won't Come on while Transmission Runs
I have similar problems with my MacBook after using Front Row and then sleeping it. Do you have an external display plugged in using the Mini-DVI connector?

Re: Transmission deleted all the torrent data
You didn't really explain your problem clearly. What version are using and what hardware are you using? What does "it recovers back up" mean? If you suddenly have torrents missing from Transmission that were previously active before quitting the application it's possible something got corr...

Re: Transmission Slowing Network
Slow your upload speed limit in Transmission and see if that helps. It looks like you are using the majority of upload bandwidth, you need to cap it at like 80% or so of your total (maybe even less if other people in your house are using your connection). You can't use all of the upload bandwidth or...

Don't forget to check your OS firewall! Its amazing how many people overlook that.
Make sure DHCP is not interfering with your port forwarding!

Re: permanent disk reading while downloading
It's probably writing to and reading from the drive as it should. I use a separate hard drive for my torrents. Having an application constantly accessing the OS drive is asking for trouble in terms of performance.

Re: cannot get prot forwarding to work
192.168.1.100 is usually an address provided by DHCP. Try setting your computers IP address manually and try again. You can't really use DHCP and port forwarding at the same time unless you are sure your computer is going to end up with the same address EVERYTIME (like there aren't any other compute...

Re: Port Forwarding Issues
Wonton, I don't know if it is relevant but usually local addresses above 100 are handed out via DHCP. Are you using manual addressing? That is kind of a requirement for using port forwarding. Have you tried disabling UPnP? There are some instances where it causes problems. Dilaughin, I think this is...
