Links in the comment field of the inspector
Hello. Here's a feature request to the developers. Transmission web interface (the inspector part) shows us the comment from the torrent. That comment field is often used to place a link to the original web page from which the .torrent file was downloaded (which is very convenient). So here's a feat...

RSS feed for site news
Hello,
It seems like RSS feed on the main page was lost during site re-design. I use RSS to keep informed about new releases (I build transmission from source) and it's a pain to have to go to the site every time just to check if the new release is out. Can someone please fix that?

Re: Yet another topic about WebUI problems.
Init script is available in ubuntu packages and works quite well actually.

That was helpful, thanks! I can see it now.rb07 wrote:You need to set a seed ratio, either global or specific to a torrent, then you'll see the seed bar

Re: Transmission 1.74 Released!
OK, I'll try again in a different way :) Did anyone see the following feature as promised in the release notes for 1.74? Web Client Progress bar shows seeding progress Or is it just me not seeing it? In which case, should be there anything special in the config file to enable it? Just curious. Thank...

Re: Transmission 1.74 Released!
There seems to be a problem with seeding progress display which is supposed to be a new feature in the web interface in 1.74. I have built transmission-daemon 1.74 from source (ubuntu 9.04, headless server) and I do not see the seeding progress, the progress bar is just like 1.73. Any ideas?

Re: Web UI on a headless ubuntu server 9.04
For a headless server it would probably be a better choice to install "transmission-daemon" package, as it has less dependencies than regular "transmission". It will not pull the GTK stuff, etc. Here's what I've got: user@server:~$ sudo aptitude search transmission p transmission...

Re: Download via Web Interface
What's the purpose of this feature? Isn't it easier to set up ftp or smb on the same machine where transmission is running?

Re: Web UI on a headless ubuntu server 9.04
I also have headless ubuntu server 9.04 and transmission-daemon works very well there. The problem is the default configuration of transmission on ubuntu, which is a bit paranoid: as far as I remember, access is allowed from localhost by default, and also a password is required. So you need to edit ...

Re: Can't open torrent file
Hopefully, 1.62 will be out soon to fix this. Meanwhile, for those who are using "pure" transmission-daemon (with no GUI, web interface only), it's still possible to add torrents via transmission-remote.
Code: Select all
transmission-remote -a --add filenames-or-URLs

Re: 1.52: 'remove data' button does nothing
Yep, same here. The "remove data" button used to work fine in transmission-daemon 1.51 (from official Ubuntu 9.04 repository), but does not work with 1.52 (which I installed from transmission PPA).

Re: Adding peer by hand
I would also like to see this feature in transmission, particularly in transmission-daemon (via web interface or transmission-remote). I have tried this feature in uTorrent and it is really useful sometimes (like when you want to add a local peer, which would significantly speed up the download).
