Ok. It would be handy still to be able to de-select finished files, so that when I erase them they don't start downloading again; but the real problem is that Transmission for Mac doesn't handle removal of a file like Transmission for Linux.

Well, I do delete data often and the Linux client has no problem with that. I understand that de-selecting a finished files means: stop seeding and reading that file. I want to download the files and that's why they are selected in the first place, but I need them only for a very short period of ...

I've missed the re-verify local data. I suppose it'll find I deleted some files and start to download them again because they are checked and then I'll have to go and uncheck them. Kind of contrived process. Thanks.

Using the Linux client I used to delete files downloaded by Transmission while still download. So those that I didn't need anymore and that were done downloading were deleted. Transmission on Linux was totally happy with that but on MacOSX it says: "Error: no such file or directory ...
