Transmission stops in a few seconds with Eero router

We needed better wifi coverage between our house and our rental next door than we had with our Zyxel C3000z router, so i bought a Eero. Oddly it would not configure to our CenturyLink fiber independently, so we simply plugged it into the Zyxel, gave the wifi network a different name, and it is faste...

Survey paused to sort highest Leech count with lowest seed

When there are a lot of paused completed files on a computer, it would be good to know which are the most in need of seeds. Leaving them all turned on when bandwidth is limited uses a lot of bandwidth. Some torrents that the user completed downloading, and paying back, may be dead with no seeds. If ...

How do trackers work?

4 questions about how it all works. 1. I have noticed that in the tracker information tab sometimes a tracker will say something like "2 seeds" and "3 leechers" but there are no peer connections in the torrent window. Why does this happen and how does it work? 2. When a torrent i...

Re: Torrents slow down towards end of dld

The links above are not helpful. Thank you x190 but i think this is not a configuration issue. Rather i think people are curious about the mechanics of torrent clients and how they complete a download. My experience is that a popular torrent will download in few minutes, but the last .5% may take an...

Threat letter from Centurylink

I received a threat letter from Centurylink partially pasted below. I have never received anything like this before. Do i have something set wrong in Transmission preferences? "(Customer ID: 'manariam624') The purpose of this warning is to inform you that CenturyLink has received multiple notic...

Sort by progress - seeding view

I think when you are looking at files seeding you usually want to know the ratio. I like to pause the over 2.00 ratios while to let the lower ratios go faster. So i think, in this view when you sort by progress, higher ratios could be at the top, regardless of the percentage of files in the folders ...

Re: Bug - Configuring multiple files when initiating

Cool. I am wondering what other useful clicks i dont know. I just figured out who to sort torrents by most active after using Transmission for years. Is there some place i could learn this stuff without bother more intelligent people?

Re: torrent cannot be opened because it contains invalid dat

Yes. Wise. However the main reason i posted this is that i think Transmission, which i greatly admire, should be robust enough to handle any torrent site that other clients can handle. ie. more in the category of "bug report".

torrent cannot be opened because it contains invalid data

I get this message on every torrent i download and try to open: The torrent file cannot be opened because it contains invalid data. I tried several different bit torrent clients, including latest Transmission, and both Safari and Firefox. Or is it just me? Can someone explain or confirm this? There ...

Bug - Configuring multiple files when initiating

I downloaded a .torrent file that had multiple files in it. The torrent had more than one hundred files, but i only needed one. So i highlighted all of them when i started it, but when i click on the select but to deselect it only deselected one file. I had to individually deselect all the files, on...

Re: Ranking files for download?

Ok, i cannot understand from reading this thread or other forum posts, and it is not mentioned in the....

Exactly what do the "Rank" buttons do? What does green mean? What does orange mean?

I would encourage putting an explanation in Transmission's Help.
