Google for a forum for your ISP. (There could be a few of them) You can find a lot of info there. The best thing is that it's local information. There will be somebody who found a solution to the modem problem and is willing to help others.
Start with that even if the solution is for a Windows ...

Why trying different numbers? Try the number from the site link I gave you. It's on the 2nd image. (site: then you see a number)

my experience is that every modem type has its own ip address.
look at this address and try again even if its not your modem, its a motorola

forwarding the port in the modem is something different than forwarding it in your computer (system prf, sharing, firewall).
most of the modem allow you to forward the port (virtual server)
