I'm on OS X 10.5.7.
One week ago I used the latest Transmission version (idk if it was 1.71 or 1.72, however it was the latest at that time), and then my system was killed by Transmission all the time.
Now a week ago or so I downgraded to 1.52, everything is smooth, no problems. I guess 1.61 will ...

I've found a solution that works for me. Simply using an older version, I'm using 1.52 (8222), works without any problems whatsoever. Been running Transmission via Ethernet all night, been downloading about 2 GB of data. Now this morning it's still downloading and I'm also good to browse the web ...

The issue is an OS issue - it was shown pages ago and a solution was given. What else do you want?

For what it's worth, and I said that in the same thread - I followed the 'solution' 100% to the letter but the solution made no difference to my setup here ...
