I'd like to start downloads on my desktop at home while I'm at school. I don't think that's possible, but can I look at their status?

Ok I got the port open and it looks like my download speeds are staying around 300K - 400K! Thanks Ryoujin! Now I just need that wireless N router.....

It says my port is 51413 and it's closed! I went to canyouseeme.org and it kept timing out. What should I do?

I am currently getting wireless internet from my wireless g router. could I get better speed if I connected directly to the router? Also, I'd like to get a wireless n router, because they are supposedly faster, can anyone attest to this? About how much faster (ballpark)? It seems like my DL speed is...
