Ubuntu doesnt have a firewall as far as Im aware.

Another supposition for a user would be be that the one of the most popular open trackers OpenBittorent(http://openbittorrent.com/) has removed it's HTTP tracker and now only uses UDP.

TF (p2p blog) a couple of months to a year back wrote something in a couple of articles stating that UDP trackers allow for a smoother web browsing experience and possibly less congestion on ISPs networks. Only thing I can think of normal users might reference.

The official Ubuntu PPA (I mean repository actually) only is up-to-date until 1.92 The unofficial Ubuntu PPA (Andreas Noteng) which I linked to (and which the link on the download page you provide directs to the same unofficial PPA), the packages published in Lucid flavor, although of couse it will ...

You could also install the latest via an unofficial Betas/Nightly PPA, from Andreas Noteng , it's as easy as adding the PPA which would do automatic upgrades with your updates. Dont know what OS using or anything really. Though make sure you've installed the libevent-dev package.
