I'm having this problem too. It's not a network thing because I have the "add window" open to appear before it actually starts.
A torrent containing a folder with many/large files opens the add window just fine, but clicking the arrow to reveal the files just causes Transmission to hang. :shock:

Still happening in 1.76. Also, not sure it'd help, but it seems to have an odd up and down phase:

Just here to chime in and say that I, too, am having this issue. Unfortunately I'm going to have to temporarily use another client until this is resolved. I'm also running Snow Leopard 10.6.1.
I've noticed that if it's just one torrent, my speed isn't maxed out yet, but it is still above the limit ...
