Bad peers in Peers window of Torrent Inspector
In current versions of Transmission GTK (up to 1.93), there is no indication of the presence of active peers throwing in bad data. If I have understood correctly, such a peer, upon receiving of several bad chunks, will simply have get banned some way (either temporary or permanently through the bloc...

SOLVED: system crash while downloading at high speed
Have being using Transmission (1.75 to 1.91) for over a year in Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 on my Toshiba Satellite L40 laptop connected to the Internet via built-in Atheros AR5007EG wireless card installed in mini-PCI. While using Transmission I discovered that downloading from large swarms at high speed r...

Re: Total and per-torrent resource limits
Since a customer request to access to more torrent properties at the startup appears (Trac ticket http://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/2846 ), dare to post my view as an enhancement proposal at Trac. Hoping for more customers would feedback on the issue.

Total and per-torrent resource limits
I would like to clarify my view of setting "total" and "local" (per-torrent) resource limits in Transmission posted in General>Support. In a current version of Transmission, one can set peers number per torrent and seed ratio (and may be even speed) for any given torrent via Torr...

Re: Capping a number of download requests per peer?
An addition to my first post in a thread: In search for a solution to my crashes around Linux community have found several notices about kernel bug in recvmsg which has plagued kernel at least since release 2.1.x. This is not related to any specific hardware setup nor to any application and has neve...

[SOLVED] Capping a number of download requests per peer?
Inspired by a thread http://forum.transmissionbt.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9443 "transmission-daemon crashing on ARM linux" and my system crashes, tried to disable EPOLL method in libevent (I've got 1.4.11-stable-1). Even though the system behaviour had definitely become different, had s...

Re: Transmission 1.83 Released
Have got the same crash as day before (my post from the 1st of Feb), with the very same call backtrace in my system log. It had happened again while downloading at relatively high speed from a peer with Dn Reqs>150. As I had similar crashes with Transmission 1.76 in Jaunty, my guess was this might b...

Re: Transmission 1.83 Released
After running Transmission 1.83 for a couple of days, have finally got a crash (system had become completely unresponsive), with over 50 Mb of such messages in a system log: Feb 1 13:20:51 kovalev-home kernel: [98411.053744] WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.31/net/ipv4/tcp.c:1408 tcp_recvmsg+0xa4...

Re: Postmortems
Cannot agree more with (3) - strict and easier to find bug reporting rules would be less puzzling to ordinary users and benefit the development team as well.
