When does the "Verify Data" thing happen? For me, it seems to happen every time I startup Transmission. I guess that makes sense but It takes about 40 minutes for one of the things I'm downloading (41.2GB), which is 8% of the time I can use Transmission in a day.

Please, can you point me in the right direction here? I need to run transmission only when I am asleep. Currently, I run a script using cron that starts it and kills it. But I don't know if transmission shut itself down nicely or what kill signals to send.

I new at this and it was my understanding that I could choose which files in a multi file download I wanted. So in Properties/Files I un-ticked the ones I wanted and waited for my nightly hours. I started Transmission 1.75 (9117), and it happily ignored my settings and started downloading everything ...

I just remembered the config files. I found and restored .config/transmission and all is well. Except that I have 133 MB corrupt. Oh well.
