I've got the same problem but i'm obviously even more clueless - how do I set it to 32 bit?
Control-Click on the icon of the Transmission app. and select 'Get Info'. You should be able to select '32 bit mode' in this window.
I can open that ok, but where in there do I select "32 bit mode ...
