I have had the same problem for like 10 months now. but its not just computers it slows down. my xbox 360 fails too when i try to get on live.

Transmission sucking the life from everyting
When i have transmission open it is like it sucks up my internet from everywhere. not just my computer but from my room mate's and from my xbox. but the second i have it closed it is perfectly fine.
