The host name is the name of the system transmission is running on, either the name or IP address. You obviously want to pick the correct one depending on if you are accessing the system form within your firewall/router or externally.

Change the permissions on the directory using chmod and/or set the mask in setting.json "umask": 0,

Thanks for the update!! I'm new to tranmission as of 1.92 running on my DNS-323 and LOVE it along with tranmission-remote-gui. Best software ever!

What can I say? Awesome.
I just loaded Transmission 1.92 onto my D-Link DNS-323 NAS unit and it appears to be fantastic!! 1000% better than the D-Link supplied BT client.
Took about 6 commands and less than 5 minutes to get it installed, configured and downloading. Great job guys!
