Re: Security surrounding config / admin center page- help!

Have you logged in from that machine before? Maybe a cookie is keeping the authentication alive. With the QNAP admin environment I mean an authenticated session and/or a specific path in the URL on the QNAP device. I believe this is not a Transmission problem but a QNAP problem. Have you tried the Q...

Re: Add Multiple Trackers at once with Transmission Remote?

Actually, I think the file you need to edit is /etc/init.d/transmission.sh. And I think it would be best to keep the Shift files in a different folder.

Re: Transmission Kill Switch

What would be the actual trigger for Transmission to stop all torrents or to shut down completely? Or how could transmission even know if it is on a VPN or not?

For what it's worth: There are two buttons for that in the Shift web interface.

Re: Suspicious high incoming traffic

It could be spikes in metadata traffic. But if you experience this traffic for more than a fraction of a second at a time, so without any actual torrent-related traffic, you could be a target of an attack. Any particular ports or protocols involved?

Re: Update Failing

Some context please. What OS/packagemanager are you using? If you keep extracting the same corrupt archive, the error message is bad. If the target extraction location is full, the error message is bad.

Re: Can not seed a torrent from a folder with transmission-create

I have never used transmission-create, but transmission-create --help suggests that the order of your parameters is wrong. The payload should be the last parameter.

Re: Torrents list is cleared on reboot [Raspbian Jessie transmission-daemon]

There are quite a few variables in play and using a non-Linux filesystem could be a complication. A few steps to get you started: ⋅ Did you use apt-get install transmission-daemon to install Transmission? ⋅ What user is running transmission-daemon? (Should be debian-transmission)...

Re: Change daemon user

Apparently the TS somehow forced transmission-daemon to run as user pi, which is weird and should not be done. This lead to the creation of a, quite useless, blank/vanilla "/home/pi/.config/transmission-daemon/settings.json". When you install transmission-daemon on Raspbian a specific user...

Re: Transmission and huge numbers of torrents ...

Yes! Given enough resources, transmission-daemon should handle those 2k torrents.

But ... The web interface gets unbearably slow. So I wrote a new one and shared it. Check out Shift.

Re: Security surrounding config / admin center page- help!

The vanilla transmission-daemon should give you a 409 HTTP error code. My guess is that you are in the QNAP admin environment which might give you access to transmission settings. But how do you get authenticated for that environment? With a username+password perhaps?

Re: No Peer on Webinterface

Hmmm ... so can you download the payload of a torrent with that instance of transmission-daemon? If yes then my guess would be that nobody's interested in what your seedbox has to offer.

Re: Add Multiple Trackers at once with Transmission Remote?

Thank you for the suggestion, but I didn't really understand how to download and install the Shift interface. I also have transmission-daemon installed on a QNAP device, but that has been running Debian instead of QTS for many years now. I found the stock firmware way to limited, especially the ava...

Re: Unrar and cleanup script - UPDATE 2013.05.24

That is what's supposed to happen. If you echo the values from these variables (TR_TORRENT_DIR and TR_TORRENT_NAME) you might get an idea of what is going wrong.

Re: Unpack/unrar on 2.9.2 in ubuntu

Try this Unrar and cleanup script and post questions there after reading the starting post carefully. This is the thread I first tried- I was unable to get that script to work at all. Also, that script and many others force the user to set a static destination for all unrared/unpacked torrents, whi...
