Re: Build Transmission on Windows

I do have Visual Studio 2010 installed here, Indeed. I'll try and fish the exact dependency from it and report back. EDIT: Depends shows i use c:\windows\system32\MSVCRT.DLL which has Windows 7's RTM buildstring as a version, but the modified date on it is from July 14th, A great deal after i instal...

Re: Build Transmission on Windows

Neat stuff. I'm assuming just replace an existing install's executables with these two? Testing now.

Re: Build Transmission on Windows

I'm still getting the odd problem i've mentioned a bit before, But i haven't been lucky in running the CLI client well enough yet.
Of course anyone's welcome to try for himself and see if he can trigger the same issue.

Re: Build Transmission on Windows

Done getting all the downloaded packages for Cygwin, Installing as we speak. I'll try investigating a bit more on the association issue, I'll try and see what Windows changed, Perhaps with some of the Sysinternals tools. EDIT2: OK, Got Cygwin up and running and libevent/Transmission compiled. I'll t...

Re: Build Transmission on Windows

Currently setting up my Cygwin environment to build, But wanted to update that i hadn't come across the issue today - Removed the two torrents i had before and loaded a new one, It finished downloading and seeding without encountering the issue again.

Re: Build Transmission on Windows

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow when i get some spare time - Will have to setup getting everything from SVN and read up on building some of those. Regarding file associations - This is interesting: My [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.torrent] entry is still pointing to uTorrent of all things - That's two clients ...

Re: Build Transmission on Windows

I'll go about trying that tomorrow, Though my previous experiences with Cygwin weren't very good. Lets hope for the best though.

Re: Build Transmission on Windows

I'm well aware and quite fine this is a bleeding edge build - I usually prefer to test the latest code. I'm also a developer myself (for a living), Though my field of expertise is around .NET applications and DB IT systems. As for the associations, None changed at all - They remained with the curren...

Re: Build Transmission on Windows

I would have provided more details if i had them - But i don't. A bit after starting a torrent (i used the OpenOffice 3.2.0 Windows JRE bundle torrent) i got the two dialogs. Ignored both and didn't seem to impact anything. Since i just got them randomly i'm not sure when and what exactly happened. ...

Let me know if i can grab more details for you somehow. I'm using the ...

Re: Why Isn't An Official Windows Pack Built?

Are the Transmission builds for Windows published anywhere? Can't seem to see any. Still trying to rummage through Google though.

I'd love a win32 build.

Re: Transmission for Windows

Is this unofficial side project abandoned? I don't see any more progress since 2008ish. This is a real shame, Transmission seems to have the best of both worlds regarding protocol support and UI. I stopped using uTorrent on Windows lately and i really need a better client. EDIT: Just so it might hel...
