Transmission

Please add PROXY SUPPORT back to Transmission. There was NO GOOD REASON to remove features, especially features used by Transmission users. This would be as bad as removing DHT from Transmission.

This is the forum explaining (or lack of explanation) to WHY the PROXY options were removed. Fortunately, there is a proxy version available on Launchpad and KTorrent (KTorrent.org).

Correction: Version 2.13 build 11501 was the last version that supported proxies.

To install the Launchpad version of Tranmission (2.13 (11501)), you will have to do the following in Ubuntu: 1.) Open Terminal (gnome-terminal) 2.) Type 'sudo add-apt-repository ppa:steubens/transmission-proxy-support' without the quotes 3.) Authenticate 4.) Then type 'sudo apt-get update &&...

Can an administrator please add why there are not proxy settings in Transmission in the FAQ section? Thank you.

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 i386. I currently have version 1.22 installed (the default for Debian/Ubuntu), but I need to upgrade, thus am doing so by compiling from sourcecode. When doing a ./configure on transmission-2.04, I got the following error: ... checking for evutil_vsnprintf in -levent... no ...

What version did this function emerge? I do not see this ability to add trackers manually in Transmission version 1.22 (the current version of Transmission made for Debian/Ubuntu).
