so far this is just a heads up ... i'll try to figure out whether it's me, the drive, or transmission ...

i'm trying to download a huge file — 55 GB — onto an external drive (WD 500 GB, Mac OS Extended (Journaled), USB 2.0, over 200 GB free).

on two occasions this week, i have ...

11313 has been running here for ... uh ... a lot of hours. all good. thanks!

11313 is looking good: almost <strike>three</strike>two hours and no crash. i'll report again in 10 or 12 hours.

ok, i'm running 11312 and will post the output.

crashed again w/ the same assertion failed (so report not posted).

i guess the next assert goes in the caller ... remote printf is an interesting way to debug
