Actually, it looks more like 460 and 2769 , which were resolved as "wontfix" and "duplicate". So this has apparently been a problem for a long time. tiennou's comment 1 in ticket 2769 seems like a good solution.
I would suggest upgrading to the latest version which is 2.12. It seems rather ...

Hello. I'm using Transmission 2.04 on Ubuntu 10.10. I was wondering if there is a way to do this.
