QUERY: re-creating original torrent file

I want to verify integrity of my data files after a HDD move/failure/recovery (adding to a fresh/blank-slate client). Some I don't have the torrent file, but instead I have a magnet URL saved in a text file. I add the magnet URL and no files is displayed. I have to run/resume the torrent, wait a few...

Too many files to seed

Will Transmission be more extensible in future? I have too many torrents to seed. I like settings/configurations so that it automatically stop seeding if total number of known seeders is more than a threshold. For stopped torrents, it would maybe poll once a day to tally up total seeders to refresh ...

HELP: OpenVPN via 2 routers

I use TransmissionBT daemon on my NAS box. I have 2 routers, modem router A is internet facing, non-modem router B is VPN and NAS connects to router B. I signed up to torguard VPN service which provides static IP and static port forwarding. I disabled my portforwards on both router A and B as advice...

BUG: large torrent files crash on verify/check

Okay, I've searched the forums and am using latest Windows TransmissionBT client 2.92-x64. Windows 7 SP1 64-bit I am trying to load a 800GB+ torrent, and force check/verify. It proceeds but crashes after sometime. This has happened again and again. TransmissionBT on D-Link DNS-320 manages 800GB+ tor...

Re: REQ: time-slice, round-robin seeding feature

I have thousands of torrents in my uTorrent list - that I like to seed. But it's unfeasible to start them all. So my policy/rule is to only seed the torrents with less than X seeders. Would be nice to have a rule/option that stops the torrent if it's more than X seeders... and frequently peeks at th...

Re: 100% CPU load on NTFS

My USB HD I bought came preformatted NTFS.
I will use the HD between my NAS and Windows laptop.

My Windows laptop won't be able to read EXT2 right?

REQ: visually see BG progressbar of MOVING torrents

Sometimes I like to use the F6 "Set Folder/Directory" of a torrent (right-click menu). It's quite nice feature, and supports multiple-torrents in a batch. This is useful to MOVE only the torrent files (including partial)... while leaving behind any extra files (eg. from unzipping, or auto ...

REQ: time-slice, round-robin seeding feature

I've got like thousand of torrents. But am on a crappy non-fibre broadband line. I like to seed to contribute to community. However, the default/recommended settings is like "Number of active torrents (upload or download) = 8". Yes I could set this higher, but that would kill my router &am...

REQ: clean-up torrent's downloaded sub-folder

Scenario: Sometimes I unzip the zip files. Sometimes I download extra subtitle files, etc. It would be handy if there was a right-click feature to clean-up files that are not part of the torrent. This assumes torrents with multiple downloaded files (ie. to a sub-folder.) Then it can easily clean up ...

Re: QUERY: transmission working with different ownership/per

oops, I meant chmod from the /mnt/HD/HD_a2 bit yes

I notice there's a REAL linux system in /ffp and then there's like a copy in /mnt/HD/HD_a2/ffp

Re: QUERY: transmission working with different ownership/per

so, does transmission run with nobody/allaccount permissions? yeah, I prefer having all my data/files with nobody/allaccount, a+rwx permissions.... while carefully leaving the /ffp/ folder with the original permissions that it was installed with. chmod -vR a+rwx / chown -vR nobody:allaccount / shoul...

QUERY: transmission working with different ownership/permiss

i am using transmission on my d-link nas dns-320. i notice the files it creates are of owner/group nobody/allaccount with permissions set all full access rwx. now i bought a 2nd hdd and installed it and needing to copy 2tb worth of data from one to the other. i used midnight commander for the ease o...
