I'm trying to prolong my SSD's life. That's why I went with the external HDD.

I need to have it in NTFS format unfortunately because my TV can only read FAT32 and NTFS.
This freeze happens only when i download a torrent directly to the external HDD. If I copy & paster something from my internal HDD to the external one it doesn't freeze. (it's definitely slower when its format ...

Then in my case it's not such a good "feature" as I'm using an external HDD in NTFS format so when I try to download something around 1gb it freezes my MacBook for about 10-15 minutes and when i try something larger 4-8gb it just freezes it forever.

Is there a way to disable file preallocation?

Is it something hard to implement or this is not available as a decision taken by the devs not to implement it?

Does Transmission have proxy support? I can't seem to find anywhere that i can set this up.
Only for connections to the tracker i need this as i use a HTTP proxy.
