Though proxy'ing through a web server is a bit more tricky to get going mainly because of Transmission's CSRF HTTP/409's that sometimes drop out of the sky it usually is the better option imho. It allows you to make Transmission RPC only accessible to the web server (if it's the same system 127.0.0....

Woha, thanks so much for this. You just fixed my main gripe with Clutch and Kettu, mainly they take up a lot of space to show nothing. I don't like the colors so I'll fork and patch what I need. Any chance you could create a way for the user to just select the CSS he/she wants? Really basic theme sy...

The 409 is a bit of a weird issue you run into when proxy'ing from Apache, nginx or lighttpd to Clutch. Some people have managed to make it work, others get the 409 and have to manually go to /transmission/web and then back to /transmission for it to work. As far as the SSL feature for remote client...
