Re: Not much activity since April 2016?

I noticed the same thing. There doesn't seem to be any activity since the KeRanger incident. I think perhaps the devs want to take a break and wait until the bad publicity is over. It's a shame because I thought the Windows build would attract more developers to the project.

What happened to Transmission development on Windows?

Ever since the 2.92 release, there have been no builds popping up on https://build.transmissionbt.com/ There's a Windows build in the downloads directory (not the official download page) on the official site, but it's buggy and it's giving people a bad impression of Transmission for Windows, despite...

Same here. This was also an issue with the Transmission Qt port.

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?

Would it be possible to include an option to only install the daemon as a Windows service so that we can use TransGUI with it?

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?

Torrentfreak just published an article with a title that makes it sound like the Windows version is ready for wide release.

That would be ideal. Makes the most sense and keeps Transmission consistent across platforms.

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?

I think he means the web UI, the web UI shows as 2.84+ (14608). Then pardon me, indeed this is wrong. Re-uploaded once again, SHA-256 hashes: transmission-2.92-x64.msi - e5cf47b367c73ea5edea5b0eeab4400bb08fef48d50cc8cfd307c4327b19bd93 transmission-2.92-x86.msi - c8d7014f4569376058715fd6045e17eb4c97...

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?

HTTPS (trackers, webseeds) - fixed, libcurl was built w/o openssl support Many thanks for this fix, Mike. Can we get a Windows subforum so we can have a dedicated place to discuss these builds? Or at least a dedicated thread titled something like "Windows Beta Builds - Feedback Needed" so...

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?

Transmission doesn't show notifications for a finished download when "Show a notification when torrents are added" is disabled. Confirmed. These builds need way more testing. The developers should consider merging their efforts with the Transmission Qt developer because his unofficial 2.8...

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?

Perhaps no alpha needed as transmission qt worked very well and official cannot, i think just critical fixes are needed then it is ok. If the current Windows version doesn't work, as it certainly does not, then it's definitely an alpha right now. I would prefer that this forum test the Windows buil...

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?

I would report that fetching hash do not work too, it downloads forever torrent from peers and i never get file list. Transmission qt from sourceforge worked fine. I can confirm the same behavior here as well. I'm going to have to stick to the unofficial Transmission Qt until all of these issues ge...

Yes, please do that. That's exactly what should happen when installing on Windows. A torrent option and a separate magnet option.

I can confirm this. HTTPS trackers are unreachable with the current 2.92 Windows build.

Can we get a Windows subforum on this board when the links get posted? The new Windows port is big news and many people are going to want to come and discuss it.
