same problem in version 4.0.6 ?

I had the same problem.

it was ALWAYS when there was a LOT of small files in the torrent. Zip your folder and create your torrent from the zipped file and you won't get this problem anymore.

same problem in version 4.0.5 ? (i mean port closed with transmission 4.0.5 without any vpn)

I know 2 ways: using a clean uninstaller (cleanmymac etc...) but come of them needed to be installed BEFORE you installed tranmission so just try...

my way : uninstalling manually all the related transmission files in mac os. (mainly in macos/users/"user name"/library)

i removed transmission 4 up ...

since TM 4.0.0 i'm crying about this problem of port. i see in version 4.0.4 the problem is not solved i can't understand why they fix uneccesary things and not this major problem... i'm on TM 3 and everything is working fine.

i had this problems with TM 4 (up to 4.0.3) who trashed so many things! i'm back on TM3 (after hardwork to reimport all my torrent files after totally deleting any pref files) and everything works now. i won't use this TM 4 sh1t...

Same here: i jus tryed 4.0.3 : port closed. Back to 3.0 -> Port Open

After some hours : the port on TM 3 is also closed! it's the second time i have this problem : each time i run TM 4.x.x the pref files are corrupted and the port is close on TM 3 after some time! TM 4 is a SH1T ! i have to ...

back to TM 3.00 everything is working fine and my port is open

Finally the problem is not fixed

The port keep open with 100/150 torrents running. But above a certain amount of torrent it turn closed

I fixed the problem

i deleted every transmission configuration files. Then i restart TM 100% empty.
I manually rebuilt the setup then the port is always open.

I think i had a corrupted pref files...

i'm on macos 13.2.1
no VPN used
SFR internet box (in france)

i used to use this box for years and i always open the port the same way for years. The problem occur only with TM 4.0.1.

i also have another problem : TM 4.0.1 crash... this morning when i woke up it was crashed with the windows : do ...

something really strange and not cool :(

TM 4.1.0 open and close the listen port :( i don't know why but when you refresh the listen port it's sometime open and sometime closed :(

of course the port is open on my internet box.

any help ?

WHich version did you reinstalled?

i tryed yo use again version 3 but i got no data uploaded and seeded like version 4 installed something corrupting the old version???
