Update (again): But, it didn't last. The very next day, I lost internet connection again.

Update: Seems I can avoid the loss of my internet connection and keep transmission running if I turn off the screen hibernation and shut-off settings. For some reason, that allowed my internet connection to remain and transmission to run overnight. Too weird.

I'm having a similar problem.

I'm using Ubuntu Studio v12.10 and Transmission v2.61. I don't have any hibernation or suspend set up - I've turned them off.

While I'm running Transmission, if I use the PC, I keep my internet connection. Even if I'm not using a browser or any other internet program ...
