Re: Auto-start on Idle
That would be really neat. So when you start surfing (for example) it goes into speed limit mode - then it starts back up again at full speed when you're not using the network for anything else. Something that might be useful as an extension of that, is a way to tie this in with router firmware, to...

Re: Installing Transmission on FreeBSD 7.1
I have tested in a clean jail with empty ports install and here is a result: # pkg_info <emtpy> # grep trans /etc/passwd <empty> # ls -a /root | grep config <empty> # cd /usr/ports/net-p2p/transmission-daemon # make depends # pkg_info ca_root_nss-3.11.9_2 The root certificate bundle from the Mozilla...

Re: Installing Transmission on FreeBSD 7.1
[/root/>cp /usr/ports/net-p2p/transmission-daemon/work/transmission-1.74/web/ /usr/local/share/transmission Copied web interface files. For some reason the make-install hadn't installed them. I ran transmission-daemon -f, and connected with a web-browser on port 9091 to find out where the daemon lo...

Re: Installing Transmission on FreeBSD 7.1
The settings had been dropped in in /root/.config Shouldn't be happen. The default config files are storage in the $PREFIX/etc/transmission/home/. This is set by $PREFIX/etc/rc.d/transmission, you can view this file. An unprivileged user 'transmission' was created. Correct. A directory /usr/local/e...

Re: Transmission causes leopard slow death
Blizzard's World of Warcraft having problems with Leopard Networking (incidentally requires the same fix that parodyr came up with for transmission): http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=3686740840&sid=1 I remember I had to tweak the sysctl like that in FreeBSD for wine+utorren...

Hi, Using FreeBSD 7.2, compiled only daemon, after couple of minutes transmission 1.71 (8646) is crashing. Re: how to upgrade transmission to 1.71(Freebsd)
I already have 1.71 in my machine for a few days. I am testing it before commit it into ports tree. The release quailty has gone downhill lately, so I am not trust to commit the update without test for a few more days.

It's already committed in SVN to get it builds on FreeBSD. Try 1.71.

From 1.42 to 1.50. I haven't touch any SVN version in between of 1.42 to 1.50 since I got a new job.

I get same crash on FreeBSD, so I just removed ~/.conf/transmission. It works again now.

There are very many free hosting out there. ;-) You can use sourceforge.net or some free git/hg hosting like this: http://repo.or.cz/ http://gitorious.org/ http://github.com/ http://www.selenic.com/mercurial/wiki/index.cgi/MercurialHosting Or you can create a new ticket and attach your Python script...

Re: Transmission hogging DNS lookup of Safari
I have this problem too. While using Transmission (though this was happening a lot when I was using Azureus as well), I can't access websites or start any activity that requires an internet connection. It doesn't however affect an active connection that was established before I started D/U loading,...

Re: Transmission causes leopard slow death
It's very difficult to figure what's problem when most of us can't reproduce it. Also, there are a few different problems in here that make worst. For example, some said that were solved by tweak with NIC driver, time machine, correct DNS resolve, uncheck the automatic port, back to 1.22 and etc.
