ZERO upload activity w/ZERO peer activity
?! Out of the wild blue (I haven't changed anything, honest) I have lost uploading capability across any of almost 200 files. The Inspector Peer icon shows NO even attempted connection activity. No error message, port = 49154... everything looks normal but Transmission seems dead in the water for a ...

Re: More decimals in download ratios
I'll key on the original concept - "fun"! This 'fix' was never intended to be more than that. Transmission is already fun - just tho't it might be made more so. I only responded years later when someone else brought up an ancient (for ME) subject, long forgotten. If I have prodded too hard...

Re: More decimals in download ratios
OK, version 2.90 is public and STILL no resolution of this insanely easy 'fix'. Users take notice - management's attitude here is obviously 'Golf Foxtrot Yankee" - and duly noted. "Take it or leave it"; I'll take it because XMSN is so far still the best around... but, I just don't lik...

Re: More decimals in download ratios
Thank you for such a rapid response... but... I can't constantly revise open source code with my 'fix' when long ago it should have already been integral within the main program at version 1. There is plenty of line length remaining in the display areas to include 'extra' decimal precision, no probl...

Re: More decimals in download ratios
I heartily second this long standing issue. I brought it up several years ago and termed the issue 'precision decimals'. I was immediately put down faster than a mad cow with the statement, "Precision decimals will NOT be implemented". The irony is that the program itself IS keeping track ...

Trackers: Suddenly, some do, some don't
Running 2.84 on my iMac. Turned it off one night, back on the next morning and WHAM! One 'set' of trackers connects, another set yields ''Scrape error - connection failed'. The log screen indicates no error messages, only informational. The failing set is composed of the exact same group of trackers...

Re: Unknown Client in the Peers inspector tab? Post it here.
I've opined this months ago for this post... can't put my finger on it just now amongst all these dozens of pages. Here is what my 'personal' guru told me - 99.99% of these weird client ids are connections external to the 'USA defined' network. When the pathway opens up, the international system gen...

How do you 'register' a torrent file with a tracker?
Yes, I've looked through previous topics... but my question is so stupid, I guess I am the only one in the universe who doesn't know the answer. I'm using Transmission 2.82 on an eMac and have created a torrent file with the program. I added it to the 'active' folder and populated the tracker list w...

Re: Download the scarcest bits of a file first???
So sorry not to include the link, which is apparently referring to whatever version was current as of 05/04/2011, which I am embarrassed to say I didn't notice at first. I agree that it must be a normal feature of Transmission; is that why some transfers are phenomenally slow to get started? Anyway,...

Download the scarcest bits of a file first???
Just noticed this PR blurb on download.com... "The current beta requires that you use an Intel Mac, but brings with it many cool improvements, including the ability to remove all completed transfers and to download the scarcest bits of a file first." I know how to control removal of comple...

Installed 2.81 and this problem seems to be fixed. Thanks and a hat tip to The Mighty Transmission Players.

Re: Problem With Maximum Active Downloads
My problem exactly. 2.80 has introduced a variety of user-befuddling bugs. Further, I strongly believe that terminology gets in the way when discussions like this erupt. I don't find ANY setting in Transmission which specifically controls "Maximum Active Downloads". So... which SPECIFIC pa...

How to correct individual transfer upload ratios
I finally figured out how to reset bogus seeded stats for an individual transfer; (iMac OSX 10.6.8. Transmission 2.80). [This does not address issues with OVERALL stats] Typically, users may dl a file or folder and its torrent from an alternate source, then move them into Transmission for sharing [s...

Re: Hard drive wear and tear vs number of transfers?
Thanks for the update. I don't use an external drive of any kind... maybe I should? (I have one, I just haven't hooked it up) ...connections limits the number of people who connects to you... This one simply confuses me. When I change my normal number [3] in the Preferences/Peers pane, say to 4, I d...

Blocklist made easy?
Thanks everyone for help with previous issues. I'm currently interested in using the most comprehensive SINGLE blocklist currently available. Yes, I know, there are hundreds of blocklist topics on the forum... but that is sort of a problem for me - there are way too many to plow through and my searc...
