This issue is still there in 2.93.
BTW, this issue was fixed 2 years ago in the discontinued unofficial Transmission-QT after this thread was posted.

Re: Invalid path / file name still crashes client on 14729
Happened to try the 2.93, still crashing with http://sonniss.com/GameAudioGDCPart2.torrent.
Almost 2 years passed, still the same issue.
Great.

Does this app have search function? If it has, where is it? I simply can't find it.

Re: Invalid path / file name still crashes client on 14729
I tried on 14736. It seems not crashing if the invalid characters is of the files/paths of the torrent itself, after removing from the list the erroneous torrent, like the ones in http://sonniss.com/GameAudioGDCPart2.torrent . But it still crashes under the situation stated in the previous post, if ...

Re: File allocation problem when doing selective download
The freeze of the client when writing these files is exactly as same as on the cygwin build of transmission daemon. Cygwin build doesn't support sparse file at all, so every single file created freeze the webui and remote client, and the time of freezing depends on file size, and this's a known issu...

Re: File allocation problem when doing selective download
I'll need to take a look later. Theoretically, there should be no difference in how files are deselected and space should be allocated sparsely or in full depending on preallocation setting. For now, the question is how do you check that space for file was allocated in full? File properties dialog ...

Re: File allocation problem when doing selective download
"preallocation" is set to 1. Only the unselected file right before the selected one will be fully allocated rather than a sparse, all other files(the selected ones) are allocated as expected as sparse. So if want to get rid of the client freeze for this situation, the workaround is: if wan...

File allocation problem when doing selective download
Assume the torrent contain file: 1, 2, 3, 4. If only download file 3, and pieces cross boundary of file 3 to file 2 and 4, then the file 2 will be fully allocated rather then a sparse file, but the file 4 as a single piece. Maybe this's because the block getting allocated is at the end of file 2 but...

Invalid path / file name still crashes client on 14729
On 14729, still got crash on path/file name with invalid characters, but under slightly different situation as before. This is how I reproduce the crash: 1. Add a torrent with destination folder name including any invalid character and start the torrent. Now the torrent will stop instead of crashing...

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?
Found another bug relating path/file naming. If giving destination folder a long path name like: xxxxx.xxxxxx.xxxx.xxxxxxx.xxxx.xxxx-xxxx.xxxxxx.xxxxx.xxx.xxx-xxxx.x.x.xxxx.x.x-xxx@xxxx_xxxxx.xxxxxx.xxxx.xxxxxxx.xxxx.xxxx-xxxx.xxxxxx.xxxxx.xxx.xxx-xxxx.x.x.xxxx.x.x-xxx@xxxx which is valid in windows...

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?
BTW, if the path name or filename was named with some invalid characters reserved by windows(i.e. *?<> etc), transmission-daemon immediately crashed. If the destination folder is ended with a explicit "\" or "/" like "c:\movie\", it crashes, without the trailing "...

Re: Any updated news about an official windows build?
I think he means the web UI, the web UI shows as 2.84+ (14608). Then pardon me, indeed this is wrong.
