I'm seeding 200-300 torrents, 300mb of RAM usage. My server is basically unusable with it open right now :/

Re: Layered, a new Transmission Web Interface with Material Design
Didn't like the native Web Interface, the codebase is pretty confusing for me, which is why I did a complete rewrite. +1.
That's why I did the exact same thing a couple of years ago and created Shift .
Oh, cool! Shift is pretty simple and light on browser resources it seems.

Re: How safe is to open access to the Web Interface from the outer world, beyond the router?
I would recommend not using the web interface over plain http EVER! It's quite simple to put something like lighttpd in front of it to take care of https encryption. When using Shift you can even make most content (torrents, files) directly accessible.

Re: Layered, a new Transmission Web Interface with Material Design
Looks worth a try. Do we need that huge (21.5 MB) 'fonts' folder in resources? Transmission.app is only 14.5 MB and is meant to be 'lightweight'. In the README.md, do you mean SIGHUP not SIGHUB? [BLOG]Are you going to change your router password before you get hacked?
