The restriction doesnt just apply to utorrent but other torrent clients too. thus I usually use an unrestricted network like my mobile data provider to download the metadata and connect to peers before using the campus wifi to download the files.

I'm using a wifi on campus which prevents utorrent from downloading metadata. any help on that?
