Re: Port is closed Problem
When you say you have no firewall active, do you mean locally on your Mac, on the modem connected to the Airport, or both?

Re: Port is closed Problem
I spoke too soon anyway. If I use 1080 the port shows as open but all my downloads stall. Back to the drawing board.
I have no idea if they know about it. It probably isn't a problem with the software. It is more likely to be a problem with how your system is setup.

Re: Port is closed Problem
As I mentioned earlier, I found out the reason that my port was closed was due to my VPN. I contacted my VPN provider, NordVPN, to ask when they will be providing port forwarding. In their response they mentioned that I can use a Socks5 proxy, although Transmission does not support that. However the...

Re: Port is closed Problem
If you don't have a VPN then I think we have different problems. You would know if you had one; you have to buy a subscription. It is not like a router, but I advise you research it and get one if you plan on torrenting. You are putting yourself at risk by torrenting without a VPN. Here is an explan...

Re: Port is closed Problem
I have discovered that my VPN is the problem. When I disabled the VPN the port shows as open.
I have absolutely no idea how to fix that.

Re: Port is closed Problem
I have the same problem. Initially it said port is closed, now it says port check site is down.
I can download fine, but I cannot upload.

Re: Alert when a torrent is downloaded?
I am running 2.92 and I still have this feature. When a torrent finishes I get a number in a red circle on the app in the dock, but once I open Transmission the number disappears.
I am new to Transmission so I don't know what it was like in the past.

Do incomplete torrent files reserve storage space?
I just commenced downloading a number of very large torrents, and soon after found that my laptop was running low on storage space. One particular torrent is 22gb in total and currently occupies 18gb on my drive, however Transmission only shows 210mb as downloaded.
Is that normal?

Re: Download Starts and Stops
I realise this is almost 6 years old so won't benefit anyone on the thread, but I was having this exact same problem - I'm even on a MacBook with an Apple Airport Extreme router (although obviously with a different OS). I tried limiting peers and also download/upload speeds, but nothing seemed to wo...
