Transmission

I'm seeing some weird behavior from Transmission that I can't figure out. Every time I add a new torrent, I can't see it unless I go to Edit > Change Session. Is this correct behavior? Not sure if this is related, but several of the torrents I'm downloading from sites with listed peers don't seem to...
