Re: Can't connect to some trackers after certificate expired
That code gave me a location of /opt/local/share/curl/curl-ca-bundle.crt. Updating that file fixed curl, but not Transmission. Ah yes, it sounds like you probably had a Homebrew or MacPorts or similar version of curl installed? Transmission was probably still using the system libcurl though. In any...

Re: Can't connect to some trackers after certificate expired
One solution I've read about is to remove the DST Root CA X3 certificate, but in macOS that is on the System Roots keychain, which isn't editable. This is the only part of your analysis that is wrong. The macOS Trust Store (Keychain Access) is not used by curl/libcurl on macOS, so trying to modify ...

Re: TLS SNI problem on OS X
I tested on my own tracker which is running HTTPS via SNI, and there were no problems. There were, however, problems when using a 301 redirect to rewrite all HTTP traffic (including the announce URL) to HTTPS. This caused an error from the tracker "invalid info hash....". I'm pretty sure t...

Fewer encrypted peers?
Has anyone noticed much much fewer encrypted peers with more recent versions (maybe going back to 1.50 or so)? I remember previously having tons of encrypted peer connections to uTorrent, Transmission, and Azureus peers. These days, I have very few or no encrypted peer connections. Anyone else havin...

Re: Transmission causes leopard slow death
Now, the fly in the ointment. As I mentioned earlier, I've been running with download limits off. Per my last post, I once again enabled download limits for this testing. I haven't crashed. There appear to be specific circumstances or configurations that trigger it. Obviously, that is why it affect...

Maybe he's trying to download font torrents? I dunno. Not a very cogent first post.

Re: downloads drop out, restart every few seconds
I've seen this type of behavior that POSSIBLY could be related to disk i/o issues. Are you using an internal disk or external disk? Can you try downloading the data to a different drive than the one you've currently been using?

Re: Is drag and drop reording busted/gone?
I think the fact that the primary remaining way to drag (in Tiger at least), via the icon, causes the menu to launch, indicates that the behaviour we are seeing is not what was intended by the developers, since it seems it would be silly to say "you must drag from here, but if you do so you wi...

Re: Transmission causes leopard slow death
I have just read this entire thread in an attempt to be marginally less ignorant when I post. Thank you. This kind of attention to the problem is what I was hoping for when I wrote my mini-rant above. Many users have reported that it only happens when speed limiting is on. This is right in line wit...

Same problem here. 10.4.11 Intel running Transmission 1.50. Can't use the Pause or Reveal buttons. Resizing the window or changing the filters has no effect.

Re: Startup Transmission Automatic
Did you do what Jethryn suggested? That will start up Transmission automatically when your user logs in. If you want it happen when your computer turns on, then you just have to make sure automatic login is enabled on your computer. Check out the "Accounts" panel in your System Preferences...

I think he's talking about the Pause button on each individual torrent, not the Pause button in the toolbar. I could be wrong though.

Re: Transmission causes leopard slow death
Like others here, I too am disappointed that this issue hasn't been given more attention and priority. The fact that Jordan doesn't have a Leopard machine should not be an impediment for the developers to properly investigate this bug. As others have mentioned, Leopard is your single largest userbas...

Re: Is drag and drop reording busted/gone?
Confirmed. In Tiger, the only way to Drag and Drop is the icon, and the menu (usually) pops up after you Drop.

The answer is easy. There is no Cancel button.
