Transmission

its the slow death bug again, and yes 2.2 is screwing macs up again. The transmission developers will stick their fingers in their ears and say that their program doesnt cause it but its been proven time and time again that it does. Everything was fine for a few releases before this one. It crashes ...

the fix is a few pages back. its a shame the developers dont bundle it with transmission

your problem is the well known and long lasting Leopard Slow Death issue. There is a fix for it in the mac support forum.

a guy a few pages back already put up why it happens and a working fix for it.

Im scared to remove the fix!


Anyway, this should probably be its own thread but I have noticed one weird behavior in snow leopard. Transmission wont load more than one torrent file at a time. If i highlight a few and open them all at once transmission will only load the first one.

oh god damn it. why would you ask what router im using? the router has nothing to do with the slow death bug that has been documented ever since this problem happened. We figured out exactly what was causing it months ago. Shit i think i put the reason on the 3rd or 4th page of this thread a year ag...

if you read this thread you would know it was me determined what caused this. and no, no other clients dont cause this.

yo parodyr, your fix is working perfectly 2 weeks in now!

free memory and all that stuff has nothing to do with this bug.

removing old plists does nothing for the slow death problem. it is so intermittent that you will think its gone.. .. then bam. slow death.

crap. just slowdeathed me. not saying the fix didnt work though, as i may have done it wrong.

yep still working. if it works for a week or so i think we can consider the problem kinda fixed. its such an intermittent thing that its hard to say if the fix real or not, but a week should give it plenty of time.

awesome. i did your changes and everything is working great now. ive been changing my speed limit a lot and no slow death! thanks man!
