Re: DHT implementation
Hm, i haven't found this when i searched for "dht port". I should stop searching bugtrackers when i'm half asleep.
Well, i'll just wait.

Re: DHT implementation
Thanks for the reply jch.
tcpdump shows some output, it looks like it tries to establish a lot of connections. The funny thing is: Transmission tries to aquire a TCP port via UPnP but not an UDP port. So: There's not port that others can connect to.

Re: DHT implementation
are there any ports that need to be opened for DHT? AFAIK there must be an UDP-Port available.
I'm using transmission-daemon and want to use DHT, too. But i can't check if it's working. At least my torrent's won't download any faster and there are no unusual numbers of connected peers.

Should Transmission grab an UDP-Port via UPnP?
Doesn't DHT require an UPNP-Port? Shouldn't Transmission reserve one?
Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Re: Transmission WebUI - strange redirect behavior
I forgot to mention that adding /transmission/web/ by rewriting the url doesn't work either. Adding it manually (when the rewrite rule is not active) works perfectly.

Transmission WebUI - strange redirect behavior
My setup: Transmission 1.71 on Ubuntu 9.04. A lighttpd server acts as proxy for my transmission WebUI. The lighty-config looks like this: $HTTP["host"] == "bt.mydomain.net:443" { proxy.server = ( "" => ( ( "host" => "127.0.0.1", "port" => 9...

Rapis share tells me, that the file may only be downloaded 10 times. What about pasting it into the wiki?

Re: make it fare to the seeders!
I think you must re-invent the protocol to make it mor fair. The Problem is: The ordinary user has a DSL or cable connection with maybe 256Kb upstream - limited to 200Kb. 5 peers are leeching, one of is you: 200/5 = 40Kb = 5KB. But who has only 5 Peers leeching? Usually there will be more. do the ma...

Re: settings.json
I'd like to see a documented settings.json, too.
What about linking it on http://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/ConfigFiles ?
I'll do it - if someone can send me a commented settings-file with all possible options.

Re: version 1.33/1.32 can't be run alongside safari
Hm, maybe we should add that to the wiki/faq. But usually a "correctly" working app shouldn't provoke a block by a firewall. right?
