if you manually determine that your port status is okay, then there is no effect on the functionality of the bittorrent protocol or Transmission client and any problems thought to have been induced by this malfunction have been reported in this thread are merely coincidental or histrionic.

Joined just to mention that I too have the "unable to check port status" message. Obviously it isn't just a coincidence that it has affected so many users simultanesouly. Can a moderator or someone more knowledgeable shed some light on this situation? For myself it is affection my upload and ...
