Re: Torrent speed fluctuating drastically only starting toda
the NAS can handle it, since it set it The NAS didn't set it. The person that made the package you used did. If he knows what he is doing is something we can't know. What I didn't expect was the variance in numbers. Hold on, you are misunderstanding how things work. My app doesn't work like Transmi...

Re: Torrent speed fluctuating drastically only starting toda
32mb is default No its not. You probably mean you just installed it and it had that value, but that is not the default set by Transmission, its probably set by the package maintainer for your NAS. Should I lower it? Depends on whether the NAS can handle it, or not. Simple experimentation won't show...

Re: Can't stop transmission daemon, so settings wont hold [l
Perhaps you have more than one instance running, or more than one instance installed. One way to stop it is: transmission-remote --exit Of course you may need to add user & password, and the remote address if you do it from another computer. Another thing to do is check if its running before and...

Re: Torrent speed fluctuating drastically only starting toda
cache-size-mb is high, can your NAS handle it? (i.e. if swap is used at all, then it can't). Global peers & peers per torrent... those usually affect the router, some routers can't handle a high number of connections (and its one of the differences between a default Transmission configuration, a...

Re: Torrent speed fluctuating drastically only starting toda
It could be the result of many causes... FWIW I also have seen this behavior, and I'm sure is not my NAS (2 core 64-bit Intel Atom, 4 GB RAM, and no other process using much CPU at the time), my guess is the peer, either they are running a bad version of something which loads a bunch of data, then s...

Re: ARM 5 : Transmission 2.8 speed limiting per task
There's also Kettu : https://forum.transmissionbt.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=16421 (another Web client to be used by the daemon instead of the original -- with support for setting individual speed limits, and most options). a way to set the TRANSMISSION_WEB_HOME environment variable via the files o...

Re: ARM 5 : Transmission 2.8 speed limiting per task
Are there any hidden options for setting download speed per torrent/job? Not hidden, very visible but you failed to mention what are you using to try to set those limits... The Web client? That one has no way to set options. transmission-remote? Yep, option --downlimit. Transmission-Qt with a remot...

Re: 7zip unpack script fails
It's not a Transmission issue. You are using Transmission-Qt for Windows, which is a port (and fork) made and released by me (there is no Transmission official release so far) and there is no official support from Transmission (this forum, or the issue tracker), the SF project has its own support. N...

Re: 7zip unpack script fails
Error: cannot find archive That comes from 7z, and has nothing to do with Transmission-Qt. My guess is that your path ("dir" in the script) has spaces. You should have use it like this (debug lines added so you can see what happens, remove it to just use it): rem @echo off set dir="%...

Re: transmission-remote fails for multiple daemons since 2.4
None of what you say is true. Some parts don't even make sense, how do you intend to run multiple instances of the daemon if all use the same port? The original post implied (not very well and the report is very poorly written) that using a proxy took care of directing the traffic to the different d...

Re: transmission-remote fails for multiple daemons since 2.4
First point: If your report is not about multiple daemons , like the title on this thread says, then don't write on this thread. If you were using a proxy you wouldn't need what is described below. Second point: stop assuming its a bug just because you can't make it work (i.e. it works, I just teste...

Re: transmission-remote fails for multiple daemons since 2.4
Its not a bug, transmission-remote never supported redirection. If you are trying to do what the original poster was trying to do, then you're doing it wrong: a redirection is not a proxy (and a proxy doesn't respond with a redirection). You could configure a real proxy (i.e. its not the software na...

Re: Port Forwarding for Multiple Computers?
Do you know what a NAS is? Your reply is off-mark (i.e. I didn't propose to convert anything to a NAS, which, by the way, doesn't need to be "powerful", at least not for file sharing, but media server is another story if it has to do transcoding) that computer with output to a TV is just a...

Re: Port Forwarding for Multiple Computers?
Using Transmissio's settings (a.k.a. Preferences), choose: Pick a random port every time Transmission is started. An option is to set a different port on each client, instead of using a random port. Which one is better? setting a fixed, different port, on each (but its more user work, the other is e...

Re: Incorrect error message when failing to write to disk
I think you are correct in your analysis. The solution is probably simpler than you think, its just a matter of figuring out if incompleteDir is being used, or not. This forum is not the place to report errors like this, we have to use https://trac.transmissionbt.com/newticket (and you have to regis...
