Re: Session Transfer Vs Actual Download
I think this is a different problem. 1.40 hands down fixes the issue being discussed in this thread, better even than it was in 1.22 i think! The slow download thing appears to be something else. And i know i would much rather have a slow download that actually downloads what it says it does than a ...

Re: Session Transfer Vs Actual Download
Okay i did a longer run last night with snapshot 6882.
Session transfer = 806.2MB
Torrent(s) downloaded total = 703.3MB
Losing 100MB is a bit of a pain, but it is nothing compared to the gigabytes that we were losing in 1.34. It could also be due to protocol overhead, if that's being recorded now ...

Re: Session Transfer Vs Actual Download
This new snapshot seems to be losing way less data so far. I'm only 50 megs in, but you usually notice something by now. I'll post again if i notice anything serious overnight.
One thing i am noticing, though, is that the speed listed on the torrent is a lot more jumpy. The total session speeds ...

Re: Session Transfer Vs Actual Download
Thanks for working on this. I just downloaded build 6865 and unfortunately overnight still saw the same behavior - 800 meg session transfer and 200 meg on the torrent. I think perhaps it's less bad than before, but it's definitely not solved. After blowing my limit last week i went back to 1.22 and ...

Re: Session Transfer Vs Actual Download
Thanks Toby!
I decided to try test out this problem again, sacrificing a chunk of my 10GB/month bandwidth!
It looks like the symptoms are:
1. Download speed "appears" normal (e.g. 40kB/s on my 512kbps connection)
2. Estimated time of completion is estimated based on the current download speed

Re: Slow Transfers vs UTorrent on Windows
I switched a while ago too and Transmission was just fine - in fact it seemed faster than uTorrent for about six months. Just the last month or so it seems to have gotten painfully slow, though, i think since 1.3 came out. I solved it by downloading Vuze. The client is horrendously ugly and sluggish ...

Re: Session Transfer Vs Actual Download
I am still seeing this issue in 1.33. It's so bad i had to download Vuze (first time not using Transmission on my mac, and it's painful!) I don't know if it's the same issue, but for a while now (perhaps since 1.3x upgrade?) every torrent i connect to i end up uploading 4x or 5x as much as i ...
