... transmission-daemon using the remote gui, it shows me that it is using port 51413 as the incoming port. If I press "Test port" it says "Incoming port is closed. Check your firewall settings". So I opened terminal session and did:

No need to disable IPv6 guys, just need to turn off firewall settings blocking it.

Go to router settings, for me its: http://192.168.1.254/
Firewall > Firewall advanced

As the port is open but just not showing as open, just wonder is it ok to leave things as they as is?


What would i notice apart from the port open warning to tell me that others can connect to me at that port?

i removed transmission 4 up to 4.0.4 because i got the same problem : port closed. back to 3 everything is working fine.

Same problem appeared again...I found a configuration line in /etc/transmission-daemon/settings.json for "bind-address-ipv6" ... deleted this and it started working, but it also automatically re-added the line (transmission-daemon updates and rewrites the settings file on the fly). I have been able to change the config files so the torrents don't stall anymore, but I'm not seeding. It says the port is closed. I don't know what to do. Firewall is not on. Port forwarding is activated on IVPN. I've added a rule in my router's settings.
