Re: Why are there 4000 connections according to my router?
Drop your established to 1800 Or 1200
Time wait could go down to 60 but don't go lower.
Give that a shot. Reboot the router to clear the current connections

Re: Why are there 4000 connections according to my router?
Sounds like your router has a longer than nessary timeout for connections. Bittorent opens and closes connections rapidly and some do not complete. This can be adjusted on some routers and sometimes in great detail on 3rd party firmware.

Re: Select download folder from web client (diff attached)
For the security concern I would suggest that the feature is dissabled unless a root folder has been set in the configuration, or a list of folders if you want to be flexible.
I really think the web client needs a folder picking ability.

Re: chat to seeders and leechers through transmission interf
I never understood the desire to chat with other p2p users. I queue my downloads then go do other things. I don't just sit there watching the progress bar wishing I had someone to chat with.

Re: Multi-user web interface.
I bet this could be done leveraging tags and adding the ability to have more than one username/password.
You could create a hidden tag on each torrent with the users name and then in the ui only show that user their torrents.

Gears button->Preferences->Peers Tab I don't remember what release it first appeared in but it should be in 2.2x and higher if I recall.

Re: UDP Protocol
Fired up uTorrent and found that it could connect to both the http and udp protocol on a common "public" tracker and a common "open" tracker... Tested the same torrent in Transmission 2.33 daemon and it did not connect to the udp protocol for those trackers.

Re: UDP Protocol
So, those trackers have a problem with their end or is a problem on the user end? :?: Probably a little of both.. Haven't fired up another torrent program to compare. Any chance you could do that and report the results? Reporting is a little tricky due to forum rule 8. "Never post private info...

Re: UDP Protocol
There are at least two common public trackers that work via http but not udp and are used in many torrents.
Having said that there are many udp trackers that appear to be working fine.

Re: hiding seeding torrents
What client are you using? I know the web interface already has a filter for ALL, Downloading, Seeding, Complete and I am fairly sure all off the desktop versions do as well.
