Re: the problem with the "Paused" category
Not sure why Transmission refers to these as "paused". They are STOPPED. They have no connections and are not transferring data. I.e. they are doing exactly the same as "finished" torrents. It should just label them as stopped and use the icon of a box instead of the ||. uTorrent...

Re: Always auto-resume at certain time
I run a similar schedule and have up/down speed set to zero. Yes, it is unfortunate (stupid!) that Transmission still makes connections when it can't actually transfer data. My answer was to automate a start and stop of Transmission. It is on a Linux system so I can use a cron entry to run the start...

Re: REQ: time-slice, round-robin seeding feature
I have heard of too many open connections killing the router but not too many torrents. I would think that you could enable a thousand seeds as long as you used reasonable values for Global peer limit and the up/down bandwidth then the router should be fine. Not sure how well Transmission will handl...

Re: Number of seeds limit not enforced
Thanks but that is not very useful. Just says that it doesn't feel right for a torrent that downloaded to not immediately begin seeding. It also doesn't feel right that when I set a limit of 4 seeding torrents I wind up with 8! I suppose you could make the case to put the oldest torrent into a wait ...

Re: Magnet links are not working
Also seeing this problem. Some magnet links just sit there. It never downloads the meta data (size and file names). There are lots of 100% seeds connected and in the "D" state. No connection problems as other torrents start and download to completion while this is happening. If I stop and ...

Number of seeds limit not enforced
Transmission has the option to limit the number of seeding torrents. This is pretty much useless because if a torrent finishes downloading it transitions to seeding even if the maximum allowed number of seeding torrents is already running. If a torrent finishes downloading and the number of seeding ...

Re: Multi core
Also running on the ODROID-C1, Yay! Are you sure the CPU is the limiting factor? I never see Transmission using more than a few percent; I would expect a maximum of 25%, one of the four CPUs, if it was saturating. Other postings indicate that software problems may be limiting high download speeds. T...

Re: What is the point of a torrent client that cannot even handle 50 running torrents?
Most residential gateways can only handle a few hundred connections at a time. Even if your program and OS can handle a lot of connections they will max out the gateway. This includes UDP connections as the NAT translation has a table to keep track of them. The usual symptoms of this are that your P...

Re: can I set order of download?
Mostly. :-) There is a queue order you can control the order of downloads with. For example if you have 10 torrents to download, AND you limit the number of active downloads to 2, then it will process them two at a time in queue order. If you are using the remote-gui the green up and down arrows con...

Re: methodology to organize seeds?
I used to move some torrents to where I permanently kept them but continue to seed from the new location. Not sure if Transmission supports moving torrents elsewhere but keeping them active. That was when I ran uTorrent on my Windows system. Now I run transmission on an Odroid C1 (a Raspberry Pi clo...

Re: Exclude Seeding Torrents From
Just to clarify are you trying to have Transmission not process the older torrents at all or to be processing them but not display them? Still not sure what you are trying to achieve.

Re: What happens when upload and download limit is zero?
Those are very useful discussions of the current behavior when either upload or download is set to zero. I am suggesting it would be useful to change what happens when both upload AND download are zero. Specifically I would like it to put any potential torrents in the wait state.

Re: Exclude Seeding Torrents From
The summary window on the left lists "All Torrents", "Downloading", "Completed", etc. If you click on one of those it will only display the corresponding torrents. I.E. if you click on downloading that is all you will see. Also, if you sort the torrents correctly then t...

What happens when upload and download limit is zero?
I have transmission configured so the upload and download limits are both zero during the week day. Evenings and weekends the rates allow for transfers. But even when bandwidth is set to zero transmission is still quite active. If it has a magnet link it will go ahead and download the metadata. It w...
