[solved] Fat Drop Down Widgets in 2.92
Long time appreciative user! Transmission 2.92 (14714) on Kubuntu 16.04 - KDE Frameworks 5.18.0 The drop down selector widgets have gained a lot of weight for some reason (see screenshot). Is this in all of 2.92 or is it something about my system? I'd like to get this fixed. https://dl.dropboxuserco...

Corrupting Torrent Data
I recently completed downloading a torrent with a bunch of mp3 files in it. I then loaded them into Amarok (while still seeding) and listened to a little of each track to see if they were all good - which they were. A little while later, Transmission reported that the torrent data was corrupted. I r...

Re: Building 2.84 on kubuntu 12.04
I just went down 4 levels in the dependency tree for apindicator and it wanted an exact version of libcairo-gobject... but my system wanted to install a newer version with oneiric in the name. I checked all my sources and all of them specify precise or nothing.

Re: Building 2.84 on kubuntu 12.04
Thanks for your reply. I took a look at that post, but I don't see how it applies. I don't have the ppa on this machine. (I had it on my other newer notebook which just died.) Any other thoughts? Maybe I got 2.84 through the backports repo. I haven't worked on this machine for awhile and don't remem...

Building 2.84 on kubuntu 12.04
I'm trying to build 2.84 on my older kubuntu system (12.04) so I can make a tiny tweak to it. I downloaded and unpacked transmission-2.84.tar.xz and ran configure. It failed on dependencies. Then, I RTFM and tried to install the dependencies it needs and that failed. What did I miss? Is 12.04 too ol...

Re: Make peer IP addresses in torrent properties copyable
Thanks. I'll read up on that. I was just kidding about actually using a videocam. (I use ksnapshot for "still" screen captures.)

Re: Make peer IP addresses in torrent properties copyable
I suppose I could use a videocam for screen capture. It always works!, But, that wasn't exactly what I was hoping for.

Make peer IP addresses in torrent properties copyable
Sometimes, I like to do reverse DNS lookups on peers. It's cool to see what countries they're from and, when they're misbehaving, it helps me decide whether to block them (using iptables) or not. Currently, I have to either write down the IP or flip back and forth between Transmission and my browser...

Re: How to change numeric display formats
That worked like a charm! Thanks for the very quick reply. Open source rocks! Now that I am using my local version instead of the one from my package manager, how do I know when a new version becomes available? I found a post that says to just keep looking at https://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/Cha...

How to change numeric display formats
Hi. I just upgraded to Transmission-gtk 2.82 on Linux. In general it's very nice and several crashes I had appear to be fixed. But, I want to increase the number of digits after the decimal points on the main display. (You just decreased them, so I don't expect you to do it.) I've programmed a bit i...

Re: Transmission 2.80 Crashes
That's too bad. I'll try that when Transmission isn't busy. How do I install the new nightly so that I can switch back to 2.77 when I'm not testing? Can I run sudo make uninstall in the directory the 2.77 tarball made and then install the nightly from another directory (I saw the svn instructions, e...

Re: Transmission 2.80 Crashes
Just uninstalled 2.80 and rebuilt 2.77 from tarball. It works.
I will just need to know when this problem gets fixed so I can go back to using the ppa.
If you need me to reinstall 2.80 for testing, etc., let me know.
Thanks.
Joe

[Solved] Transmission 2.80 Crashes
Just upgraded from the ppa from 2.77 to 2.80. I use transmission-gtk because it has always worked and (at least in the past) has often been several releases ahead of the qt version. In 2.77 (and in several previous versions), whenever I selected Edit->Preferences->Speed, Transmission would crash. Th...

Re: [Solved] Make Progress bar reflect seeding ratio
What I see since 2.33 is a "normal" progress bar for downloading that "resets" once downloading is complete and then reflects the percent of the upload limit which has been achieved. If uploading is unlimited, it shows as completed (full bar). For one release or two, they had the...

Re: Compiling Transmission on Kubuntu
We'll get this eventually ... I get undefined command SIGPIPE Same with sigpipe. Since I ran transmission-gtk from the cli, I didn't get apport/KDE crash handling. Withoput gdb, I did cd /usr/local/bin ./transmission-gtk & With it, I did cd $HOME/installs/transmission-2.75+/gtk gdb transmission-...
