Upgrade to 2.10 on Linux caused gui problem
I just installed the update to 2.10 from the ppa repository (kubuntu karmic) using the kde update notifier. It broke my application links. All my links pointed to /usr/bin/transmission. This was deleted and replaced by /usr/bin/transmission-gtk. When I tried to run transmission from the gui, nothing...

Re: Trying out the current beta
Thanks. I'll give it a try. It would be great if someone would add a few lines about this to the FAQ.

Trying out the current beta
I haven't done much with beta software, so please bear with me if these questions are a bit obvious. (I do have programming experience and have done similar installs of packages that were not already installed on my system). I went through the wiki and downloaded the current beta. I did the configur...

Prevent Multiple Torrents From Using The Same Folder
When I'm trying to download a file that has very slow or inactive torrents, I sometimes start more than one torrent to see which one will deliver the results in a reasonable time. Also, there's nothing to prevent two (usually) similar (but not the same files) torrents from specifying the same folder...

Re: Trouble getting torrents to start
Yes, but it's happening on several different torrents and trackers and I sometimes get the "count" reply, but not the 'list" reply. Don't they both come from the same piece of software?

Trouble getting torrents to start
I'm using Transmission 2.4 on kubuntu karmic Linux. It was working fine for a long time. Now, it seems that whenever I start a torrent download, a couple of things happen. Either its trackers time out completely or they get peer counts, but no list of peers. I have a 20/2MB Internet connection. My f...

[Solved] Blocking individual annoying leechers
Is there a way I can block individual leechers from my torrents? I've noticed a couple lately. One has been sitting doing nothing for around 2 days - just tying up resources. I saw another the other day that would upload from me at speeds of over 100KB/s over an extended period of time with it's ra...

Controlling Transmission from a shell script
I am running Transmission 2.04 on my kubuntu karmic Linux notebook. It is currently set up as a normal desktop application (no daemon). I'd like to write some bash shell scripts to monitor Transmission while it is working to alter its behavior automatically when I'm not doing it manually. I see that...

x190 > that makes sense, but that's a whole lot of errors on every torrent and my line - at least - is pretty clean. Don't tell me ... You're using the Mac version ... I don't get any cool displays like that in Linux. lazybones > It really shouldn't matter what part of the file I am sharing and whet...

Re: Make Progress bar reflect seeding ratio
It sounds like the Mac version is way ahead of the Linux version on a number of fronts. Is the Mac fork of the project the core of the project or the original version? How hard is it to port things to Linux - especially when most of the ones I want are primarily in the UI? Are we just short on devel...

Re: How do torrent ratios work?
Thanks. I don't understand your reply. From my perspective, I'm looking at torrent size in bytes and uploaded data in bytes. I don't see how time enters into it at all. Please elaborate.

Re: [Feature Request] Decimal Places
I would also like this feature to at least maintain 2 decimal places. When a torrent is > 1GB and the upload speed is limited (ADSL ...), it can take a really long time to see any visible evidence of progress.

[Solved] Make Progress bar reflect seeding ratio
When a torrent is seeding, the download progress is always (AFAIK) 100%, so showing it just wastes window space. It would be cool if the progress bar changed to reflect progress toward the goal fixed ratio (for those torrents that have one). For those with no goal - unlimited, it would be great to r...

How do torrent ratios work?
I regularly see ratios - especially for uploads that are lower than I would expect them to be. And, they do not catch up later (as might be expected if it came from a tracker that was behind in updating it.) Below is a current example. Is this a bug? 640.2 is a lot more than 100% of 622.7. tx2.png T...

Make Transmission Windows Smaller ...
I'm using Transmission 2.01 (10898) on kubuntu karmic Linux, but I think most of this would be very similar on Windows or a Mac. Problem: I spend a lot of time hooked up to an ADSL line (slow - especially for uploads). As a consequence, whenever I can, I manually manage my torrents to maximize finis...
