Re: Incorrect error message when failing to write to disk
You are right. Don't take the answers you receive too seriously. The main problem in your post is that you didn't give details, so other people have to guess... and those guesses are probably wrong. My guess: you are using Transmission-GTK on Linux. There's a forum specially for that client. As I sa...

Re: Failing to add torrents via RPC
No. You replace the "web" with "rpc".DoghouseReilly wrote:he base address is hostname:8181/transmission/web so I should be requesting from that plus /rpc/, is that right?

Re: Compile debug version of Transmission-Qt for Windows?
That version is not released or supported by the Transmission developers (and this forum). That version has its own support forum (the link is in the Start Menu Transmission item). The patches on Transmission's Wiki are for old versions (as stated in the text), so no, they are not relevant. The list...

Re: "On completion" script
Your script is using programs that are not in its PATH, it doesn't find them. You should either define PATH at the top of the script, or use the full path of the program(s). BTW Plex doesn't need anything to work, as long as you have your (whole) configuration right (i.e. Transmission moves the fini...

Re: Download location
You said you already were using it... if you have problems with that modification, ask its creator (as I said, 3rd party modifications/apps/whatever should have their own support channel -- I don't use that modification so I can't really answer any question about it)... Its probably trivial, if it d...

Re: transmission-remote move not working
transmission-remote -n user:pass -t torrent\ name --move /some/path That's not valid. The "-t" option takes either a number (ID from the list of torrents), or a hash code (or "all"). man transmission-remote ... -t --torrent all | active | id | torrent-hash Set the current torren...

Your original message is not clear.Arathonk wrote:there is no option for a map
There is no map option in stock Transmission. There is one if you install a modification: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15699 (support for any 3rd party modification/extension shouldn't be in this forum).

The "webinterface" (called Web client) has a Preferences button (in the bottom, 2nd from left), which has the download location setting.Arathonk wrote:Transmission with webinterface

How do you add torrents? The idea is that whatever you do includes a download directory (i.e. in the Web client the panel that opens has a pre-filled destination folder -- this is for version 2.84 and recent ones, I don't remember if version 2.52 had it).

Re: dowbload.dir not taken into account
looks like i don't get how this tool works… Try: transmission-remote -n <user>:<password> -si The user & password are the same as for the Web client. I agree, the start-up script doesn't seem to set the download directory. Then the best 2 options to figure this out is the log, and check things ...

Re: download dir not taken into account
Use "transmission-remote -si" to see the real value. If it is different, then the start-up script (which may use values from another file, in Debian... /etc/default/transmission, or is it /etc/conf.d/transmission-daemon ?) The "hint" is that you can put something in settings.json...

Re: download dir not taken into account
Any idea as to how this can happen ? Yes, a mistake modifying the configuration can leave Transmission using its own default (or the one set by a start-up script). Missing information: What Transmission client are you using? (i.e. daemon, Mac, GTK, other) How do you interact with Transmission? (i.e...

Re: Pause for a while feature
What you describe can be done better by using the queuing limit. Lower download queue "max active downloads" to 1; Pause the torrent you want to continue later; Start the same torrent... it will start as queued, and really start when the other torrent finishes. Other features of this proce...
