I think (I'll have to double-check) the group sub-settings are only invoked when the torrent is originally added to the client.
For now, you can select the torrent and pick "Move data file to..."

Re: 215k torrents, not announcing fast enough?
I'm a bit confused... "the tracker" is ???? A single torrent tracker (eg: tracker.fred.cc) or a torrent indexing web site (eg: all-those-freds.cc)? "isn't reporting" in what way? Sending announces fast enough isn't a thing. The issue is how many announcers can be touched at once ...

If it's a feature you really need, go to https://github.com/transmission/transmission/issues to open the issue as a feature suggestion.

Re: Downloads appear to be active, but no progress bar.
torrents added to Transmission show up in the All, Active, and Downloading tabs and there seems to be activity but. . . there is NO progress bar Make sure you haven't accidentally hit cmd-T (Compact View). the Time Remaining never seems to approach zero Getting the data for the last few pieces can ...

Re: Migrating between Transmissions
Does Transmission generate the same error with a new torrent?
Try setting transmission to NOT automatically start added torrents then manually verify a torrent.

Re: Megabits vs. Megabytes Download Speed
Transmission reports speed in KB/sec and MB/sec; those are bytes not bits. "queued up" is perhaps most of the problem. If you're only running a few torrents, and their seeders don't have fat pipes, you won't see much throughput. Instead, open 'er up. Preferences > Transfers > Management, u...

Re: Problem opening ports.
Give it time. Seeding can be a fickle thing from minute to minute. When someone wants the item they'll be able to link in and leech.
fwiw, I've got several hundred torrents seeding. Weekday mornings if I get 4 peers that's a lot. Weekend evenings, I might have 150 peers...

Re: Problem opening ports.
ok. Um, try forwarding manually.
Turn off upnp in your modem/router then manually open a port and forward it to your Mac. In Transmission, set the port, turn off random and auto. At that point, the port tester should give you a green light...

That log you sent shows that the port was forwarded. Why do you think it isn't?

That a connection to a tracker failed means nothing. Trackers are under very heavy loads...

Re: Set Seed/Ratio Limits for Public Trackers
Not currently. Transmission doesn't differentiate private vs public. Might be something to talk about tho. Why do you want to do such a thing? Seeding is what makes the torrent swarm work. A ratio of 1.0 is the bare minimum. 2 is sad. Why not just set a large limit and let the torrent run? Contribut...
