Even though the Proper Fix for this is still in #1753, nightly users should see a lot fewer GUI freezes because of the fix in #5168.

Re: Trying to seed to yourself?
I get no hits when Googling for the "Trying to seed yourself?" error message... clearly the tracker's seeing a problem with the announces, but without more context it's hard to say what that problem is. Any idea what software the tracker's using? If you search for that phrase in the tracke...

Re: Making a donation without PayPal
Thanks for using Transmission!
We're not really set up for taking in cash. I'm pretty sure that you can use a Credit Card to send a payment through PayPal, though.

Re: A number of persistant problems with Transmission
Please open a bug ticket with a crash report; that's the easiest way to get the crash fixed.

Re: Some very bad decisions in transmission
Porter, what tools are you using to perform the disk accesses with and without disabling the posix_fadvise() calls, and could you post the before & after statistics?

Re: Magnet link not starting
Hey soulcooler,
What version of Transmission are you using there? I'm not sure what's causing the issue you're seeing, but I do know there are some magnet link bugfixes in 2.50 beta 1. If you haven't tried that already, you might download it & see if it helps.

Re: Constant crashing for months (several versions)
I'm still seeing this behavior. I tried nightly builds and also the latest release with the same results. Latest crash was under the current release, 2.42+ (13100). It's extremely easy to reproduce. Simply letting Transmission run overnight is a virtual guarantee of a crash. Please see this forum's...

Re: Network bandwidth units optional
https://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/4747#comment:4 It seems clear to me that apps are heading in the direction of base 10 for network bandwidth and disk space. I'm not overjoyed with it, but IMO the writing is on the wall. If anyone wants to cook up a patch for this to make things configurable, a...

Glad to hear it's all working now.mxbray wrote:Well, I decided to swap out my Belkin router for the Apple AirPort I got for Xmas and the ports are now (usually) showing as open, so it must've been something with the Belkin router. Thanks for the help, though.
Good call dropping the Belkin; they're the worst.

Re: Port Closed BUT Fast Speeds
Okay so here's an analogy explaining "port closed". Let's say you and and a friend have telephones and your ringer is turned off (this is the "port closed" equivalent). You two can still talk (the "fast speeds" equivalent) as long as you make the call, but your friend c...
